Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials (Quadrant)

This one is kind of our showpiece project. Mitsubishi Chemicals is a multinational with establishments in 54 countries and it operates in almost every sector through its manufacturing of plastics and composite materials.

To keep the communication between the establishments and external parties across the world on track, the company chose a Panasonic VoIP telephony solution as the standard for all its sites. A KX-NSX2000 was provided in a data centre in each continent that connects the local sites to each other using the company’s own back-up solution. The administration was also distributed across each continent and is performed by MCAM’s own IT department. Their in-house specialists were given thorough training, but naturally our service engineers are available around the clock in the event of an emergency.

A Unified Communications tool was also provided on top of this for all users so that staff can also contact other sites internally, which turned lists with colleagues’ phone numbers into a thing of the past. Everyone also has access to functions such as availability, chat, query logs, and click to dial.

The architecture of this set-up, as well as the worldwide coordination, was entrusted to Licom. As a West Flanders company, we place a high value on this project. Our 20 years of experience with similar types of architecture meant that we were trusted to put this project on the right track across the world. As an SME, we are directly supported in this endeavour by Panasonic Japan.
